The Bureau has set up a Committee for Safeguarding Impartiality which is accountable to the Standards Council for the integrity of the National Management Systems Certification Scheme.
As per ISO/IEC 17021:2011 - Conformity assessment - Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of management systems, the structure of a certification body shall safeguard the impartiality of the activities of the certification body. In line with the above requirements the Mauritius Standards Bureau has set up a committee for safeguarding the impartiality of its certification activities.
The members of the Committee are chosen for a period of three years.
The Committee is thus inter-alia responsible for assisting the certification body in developing policies relating to impartiality of its certification activities and advising on matters affecting confidence in certification including openness and public perception.
