Food Microbiology Laboratory’s aim is to assist individuals as well as corporate
organizations that are food safety conscious, in ensuring that the food they
are eating are safe.
Laboratory will provide testing assistance to adhere to either your own
company’s set acceptable limits or compliance against National Food Regulations
that are currently enforced in Mauritius or even against other countries’
regulations if need be.
laboratory carries out microbiological analysis of a wide range of food and
food products namely potable/tap or bottled drinking water and other beverages,
all fish and fish products, meat and meat products and animal feeds and milk
and dairy products and other food matrices.
testing activities are conducted by well-trained personnel in a fully-equipped lab
and cover various tests namely detection of pathogens such as Salmonella
species, enumeration tests of a
number of micro-organisms namely Escherichia coli,
Staphylococcus aureus, Yeasts and Moulds as well as the Total Microbial
